Pelicans have been pretty constant companions for us on this trip. We would see them pretty much every time we walked on the beach in Manuel Antonio, and now we're staying pretty much right on the coast, we get them flying right past the house!
They would either be flying pretty high, often in a V formation, like geese, or, as depicted here, extremely close to the water, often with their wingtips skimming the sea. They not only looked beautiful, but also as if they were really enjoying themselves.
As with the previous piece, this is done in a slightly looser, more painterly style, one that I really enjoy using. I think there may be a few changes needed when I get back to the UK, but we'll see.
