The Flock
Oak in Yellow: 70 x 45cm

I decided to do a static subject matter for my second piece exploring the new transient style. The oak is a symbol of longevity and strength, but there is also a long history of the Oak being part of ancient religion. The Druids worshiped in Oak groves and their name is thought to mean men of the oaks, a Gaelic derivation of their word for oak, Duir.

This symbol of permanence seemed the ideal next piece as it was a contrast to depicting a fleeting moment.

You can find this on display at the Pinkfoot Gallery in Norfolk.
